Job Description

Are you detail oriented, highly organized, and passionate about delivering great customer service? Join the Office of Human Resources at the University of Missouri as a Human Resources Specialist I on our recruitment team. This position will play a vital role in supporting the processing of unpaid appointments for units across the university.
In this position, you will coordinate background checks, review and finalize unpaid appointment submissions, and act as a key point of contact for departments and hiring supervisors. This role will be instrumental in streamlining and improving processes related to unpaid appointments. You'll also provide front-desk support and assist with other recruitment operations as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
* Background Check Coordination - Process all background check requests for unpaid appointments, collaborating with recruiters and hiring managers
* Unpaid Appointment Processing - Review and process unpaid appointment submissions in accordance with university policies and procedures
* OHR Front Desk Support - Greet and assist in person visitors and HR inbox management
* Customer Service - Partner with departments and supervisors to offer guidance and build strong rapport to support the unpaid appointments process
* Support Recruitment Efforts - Assist with job postings, candidate screening, and reference checks as needed.

Shift

Monday - Friday, 8:00 - 5:00 pm

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in Human Resources, administrative support, or higher education
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* Ability to work independently
* Ability to manage ongoing projects and work flows efficiently
* Familiarity with HR software such as eRecruit

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour

Grade: GGS-07
