What this job involves: As a Maintenance Technician, you'll be responsible for ensuring all building systems operate efficiently and safely. You'll monitor and maintain HVAC equipment, manage inventory, oversee contractors, and ensure regulatory compliance. The role requires technical expertise combined with leadership skills as you'll coordinate work orders, identify safety hazards, and maintain critical documentation. You'll work closely with the Operations Manager while taking ownership of maintaining the facility to the highest standards.

What your day-to-day will look like:

Building Management

  • Monitors operation and maintains refrigeration, and air conditioning equipment; heating, ventilating, filters, other mechanical and electrical equipment; reviewing logs as necessary to assure proper operation of equipment; responsible for reporting anyproblems/malfunctions on an as need basis. Performs preventive tasks when required. Oversees repair and P.M. of HVAC systems.
  • Good understanding on UPS systems and generator Functions.
  • Ensures the availability of an adequate inventory of tools and other supplies to operate the building. Specific duties include but are not limited to preparing and submitting purchase orders requests, developing sources for stock materials and performing periodic checks of inventory levels and equipment conditions.
  • Responsible for overseeing the activities of contractors working within the building either as representatives of the building itself or tenants operating within the buildings.
  • Understanding the SOW that is in place.
  • Working with site Ops Manager.

Safety

  • Identify safety hazards within the building and incorporate the remediation of such hazards to ensure that the building's staff and occupants work in a safe environment. Implement, administer, and manage safety training program.
  • Ensure that compliance of all regulatory laws and guidelines are met as they relate to the operation of the building's infrastructure. Responsible for alerting management of building discrepancies.
  • Maintain all infrastructure and compliance documentation for the building including up-to-date building drawings and single lines as well as documentation mandated for the purpose of maintaining regulatory compliance with Federal, State or Local law.
  • Work with Local QRA & EH&S Management to ensure compliancy.

Location:

Rotate week to week to support site at 3595 W Technology Dr, Salt Lake City, UT 84119 and 955 West 3100 South, Salt Lake City, Utah 84119

Work Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday, 7AM-3:30PM (flexible start time)
  • May include on-call responsibilities

Required Experience and Technical Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial building maintenance or related field
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with HVAC systems, electrical equipment and general facilities maintenance
  • Demonstrated experience with preventive maintenance programs
  • Knowledge of building safety regulations and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in computer systems including MS Office, building management software and work order systems
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to read and interpret building plans and technical manuals

Preferred Experience and Technical Skills:

  • Technical certification in HVAC, electrical systems, or facilities maintenance
  • Experience with UPS systems and generator operations
  • Knowledge of energy management systems and conservation practices
  • Previous supervisory experience managing contractors and vendors
  • Familiarity with procurement processes and inventory management
  • Experience working in mission-critical facilities or data centers
  • Knowledge of building automation systems
  • OSHA safety training or certification
