Georgia-Pacific's Dixie in Lexington, Kentucky is searching for a Performance Leader to support the Logistics Department. This role is responsible for the hiring and development of the hourly logistics employees and managing all aspects of their performance. This leader will assist in establishing a PBM culture, developing an ownership-based work system and will be accountable for the product system results that are impacted by their team's performance and capability. This leader will help employees develop and maximize their contributions by applying Principle Based Management.

This role will be responsible for approximately 8 employees and will report to the Supply Chain Manager. This position will have a significant role in optimizing warehouse operations.

What You Will Do

  • Hire, develop and retain contribution-motivated employees with a diversity of aptitudes so your team's culture more fully exemplies Our Values for the Product System.
  • Help each employee better understand and embrace the team/business vision (and associated strategies and priorities) so they can make the greatest contribution to Georgia-Pacific.
  • Motivate each employee to make the maximum contribution to the team's long-term success by realizing their potential.
  • Coordinate safety risk assessments for operational and physical hazards with operation technicians assisting them with developing and implementing solutions to reduce risks.
  • Focus on human performance of product system through defining, educating, coaching and executing various disciplined operation processes/procedures.
  • Lead and role model our PBM Culture and align with the Ownership Based Work System.
  • Lead individual performance reviews, career development and compensation discussions with team members.
  • Coordinate daily shipments according to company quality standards and legal regulations.
  • Oversee the receipt, storage and dispatch of goods, ensuring inventory accuracy.
  • Prepare and manage shipping documentation.
  • Lead the staffing and training plans for hourly team members.
  • Communicate with internal resources in other departments to support operational material flow.
  • Communicate with external resources (KBX, Deployment, Third Party Warehouse, OTR Drivers, Spotting Service) to ensure flow of information to needed parties based on shipments and production inputs.
  • Support Logistics team with system troubleshooting to deliver consistent flow of materials.
  • Prepare and submit reports on shift activities, including productivity and any incidents.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Two (2) or more years of leadership experience within a warehouse environment
  • Experience working with safety policies and processes
  • Previous warehouse/logistics experience
  • Proven ability to take initiative and effectively lead team members
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with customers
  • Must be able to multi-task and handle any competing demands

What Will Put You Ahead


  • Five (5) or more years of experience leading a team of direct reports within a warehouse environment
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Experience managing and engaging a team in continuous improvement
  • Experience working and leading in a union environment
  • Experience using Kronos and/or SAP or other CMMS
