DC Energy Regulatory Associate (3rd - 5th Year)

Paul Hastings LLP
United States, D.C., Washington
2050 M Street Northwest (Show on map)
May 31, 2025
The Washington, D.C., office is seeking a 3rd to 5th year associate to join the Energy Regulatory and Transactions practice. The associate will support a busy group in cutting edge areas of energy law, including representation of renewable energy and electric storage developers, independent power producers and transmission companies, power marketers, and electric and gas utilities (including non-jurisdictional ones).
The work will be a mix of regulatory work before FERC (e.g., FPA, NGA, PURPA, PUHCA) and state public utility commissions, litigation before administrative agencies and federal courts, investigations, and transactional (contract negotiation for sale and purchase of electric power and gas and interconnection and transmission agreements), and other deal work supporting energy-related financings and transactions (e.g., data center power supply).

This is a good opportunity for the associate to build on regulatory expertise to support the energy deal area. Significant experience in FERC hearings/settlements and regulatory experience, including in the electric renewable energy and gas areas, is desirable.

Candidates must be admitted to the DC Bar. Please submit a cover letter, resume, and law school transcript.

The salary wage range that we expect to pay for this position is a minimum of $260,000 and a maximum of $365,000 (annually). The actual pay wage may vary based on experience or other relevant factors.
