| Job Description Position Scope: The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Gift shop is a service organization to patients, visitors and staff of the medical center, helping to increase the reputation and overall satisfaction of the medical center. This position is focused on helping the organization achieve its goals through leadership in the discipline of retail, merchandising, and customer service. The gift shop generates over three million dollars in revenue annually. The gift shop offers a full line of merchandise including, gifts, clothing, reading materials, confectionery etc. Position Summary: Manages all student staff and volunteers and performs managerial duties associated with the daily operation of the gift shop. Minimum Education Required Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Required Qualifications Bachelor?s degree in marketing amp; retail management or related field of study; considerable retail/marketing experience. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Previous ability to operate cash registers. | |
