As a Water Resources Engineer in our Nashville, TN office, you'll perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to support surface water system design, develop models and simulations, and assist in preparing plans, specifications, cost estimates, reports, and permit applications. Projects may include stormwater management and permitting, watershed management, MS4 services, and water resources construction permitting.

Key Responsibilities:

    Manage stormwater permitting, erosion prevention, and sediment control permitting for transportation and site development projects.
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control reviews to ensure project accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide mentoring, training, and oversight to junior staff and engineers.
  • Manage water resource-related projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and objectives are met.
  • Pursue client management and business development opportunities to expand the firm's portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Biosystems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Tennessee or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in water resources design and permitting.
  • Strong reputation and recognized relationships within the Tennessee regional marketplace, particularly with environmental regulatory agencies.
  • Experience in mentoring and managing teams to ensure professional growth and effective project execution.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microstation, ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, EPA SWMM, HydroCAD, or other water resources software.
