What this job involves

This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing various building systems and equipment, including electrical components, HVAC/R systems, plumbing, and automation equipment. You will provide essential technical support for facility operations, troubleshoot issues, and perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal functionality of building infrastructure and specialized equipment.

Your day-to-day tasks will include:
  • Maintaining lighting systems, including bulb and ballast replacement and electrical troubleshooting
  • Performing maintenance and repairs on HVAC/R equipment, motors, pumps, and plumbing systems
  • Supporting and troubleshooting automated systems, including conveyors, sortation equipment, and PLC components
  • Conducting preventative maintenance on rooftop units, refrigeration, auto/overhead doors, and food equipment
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting technical equipment such as scanners, printers, scales, networks, and UPS systems
  • Participating in on-call rotation to respond to after-hours emergency situations
  • Documenting work activities, maintaining compliance with safety procedures, and handling hazardous materials properly
Desired experience and technical skills Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Valid state driver's license
  • Electrical hands-on experience and troubleshooting (480V 3-phase, 110 VAC, and 24VDC systems)
  • Ability to identify, maintain, and troubleshoot motor controls and standard electrical components
  • Experience with food service equipment maintenance
  • Strong reasoning, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Physical capabilities: lifting 80+ lbs, using ladders up to 30 ft, frequent climbing, bending, and kneeling
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently or in team environments
  • Flexibility with work hours and days (7 days a week operation, including holidays)
Preferred:
  • Completion of applicable technical training program with minimum one year experience in building repair, maintenance, plumbing, and electrical work
  • Systems controls knowledge or programming experience
  • EPA Certification (Type 1, 2 or Universal)
  • Experience with UPS components and troubleshooting
  • Experience with advanced automation controls systems
  • UST Class B Certification
