Hourly Salary $21.16

Primary Duties

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. These duties and responsibilities will be rated on the Annual Performance Review.

  • Operate all material handling equipment including but not limited to flatbeds, shrink wrap and banding devices, hand trucks and dollies.
  • Open containers attach identifying tags or labels to materials or mark information on cases, bales, or other containers.
  • Assists in all freight and material handling as needed.
  • Counts, weighs, and records numbers of units of materials used or handled daily.
  • Maintain appropriate records and reports to guarantee that inventory control and security is retained.
  • Transporting, loading, and unloading materials at the work site. The Material Handling Laborer conveys material from storage or work sites to designated areas by securing lifting attachments to material and transporting loads to destinations or signals forklift operators to move load to destination.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist in physical inventories as required.
  • Report to supervisor any damaged racks, faulty equipment, or other safety hazard.
  • Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
  • Assist with scheduled/unscheduled housekeeping of the loading docks and Warehouse storage areas.
  • Complies and coordinates with all Dockmaster policies and procedures.
  • Comply with OSHA guidelines.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Certification(s)

  • High School diploma or General Equivalency diploma (GED) required.
  • At least two years' experience in a warehouse setting.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Good reading and writing skills.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers, multiply, and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
