Job Title: Lead Cable Technician
Location: Richmond, VA Job Type: Full-Time Salary: $24-27/hour - based on experience About the Role: We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Lead Cable Technician to join our growing team! In this role, you'll lead the charge on installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting structured cabling systems for commercial and industrial projects. You'll guide a team of technicians and ensure every project is completed with precision and professionalism. Key Responsibilities: * Supervise and lead a team of cable technicians on-site * Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, fiber, coax, etc.) * Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and technical drawings * Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards * Perform quality control and troubleshoot connectivity issues * Coordinate with project managers, clients, and other trades * Maintain accurate documentation of work and materials * Train and mentor junior technicians Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications preferred (e.g., BICSI, FOA, OSHA 10/30) * 5+ years of structured cabling experience, with 2+ years in a leadership role * Proficient in cable pulling, dressing, labeling, and termination * Ability to manage multiple priorities independently * Excellent communication and leadership skills * Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Preferred Skills: * Experience with data centers, security systems, or AV installations * Familiarity with cable certification tools (e.g., Fluke, NetScout) * Project management experience is a plus *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00/hr.
