Job Title: Senior Technical Project Coordinator
Location: TX - Dallas/Irving
What you'll do: As a Senior IT Project Coordinator, you'll manage and oversee complex IT projects to ensure successful execution from initiation to completion. In this role, you'll be working on project coordination, stakeholder management, and team leadership, while supporting Western Alliance Bank's IT objectives and strategic goals. Additionally, as the Senior IT Project Coordinator you'll act as a key liaison among project teams, vendors, and leadership to drive project success through detailed planning, communication, and risk management.
- Work with senior project manager to protect the team from over-committing and scope creep. Aid in estimation, sub-task creation, and sprint reviews. Capture feedback and note areas for improvement. Meet with team members and stakeholders as needed. Resolve team disagreements about process and work styles. Analyze burndown charts and portfolio planning tools. Eliminate external blockers and manage internal roadblocks.
- Interface with business units to understand and document requirements, ensuring they are well thought through, and translate them into functional and technical requirements. Collaborate with engineering technical leads and engineers, conduct and read technical documentation, and explore data and workflow automation.
- Participate and contribute to projects from initiation to completion, monitor progress, implement mitigation strategies, and develop detailed project plans while coordinating with departments and stakeholders. Facilitate regular project meetings, ensure effective communication and collaboration, and ensure projects go through the software development life cycle (SDLC). Understand IT function terms and workflow including security, CI/CD, Azure DevOps, WorkFront, etc.
What you'll need:
- 3+ years of related experience or similar field.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
- Entry-level knowledge of general Financial Services or Banking is preferred.
- Entry-level knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
- Intermediate organizational and interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with team members, stakeholders, and external partners.
- Intermediate experience communicating over various tools as well as experience responding to inquiries/questions from managers and senior leadership.
- Intermediate speaking and writing communication skills.
- Project Management Professional Certification, Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Scrum Master Certification (CSM), Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Fundamentals, or Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge preferred.
- Occasional travel required.
