Network Design Engineering Support
$81.00 per hour
Job Title: Network Engineering Support - Satellite Ground Systems
Location: On-site | Scottsdale, AZ
Role and Position Objectives:
As a Network Engineering Support Specialist for Satellite Ground Systems, you will play a vital role on a cross-functional team focused on building and sustaining secure, high-performance networks that support mission-critical satellite communications. You'll contribute to the full network lifecycle-from architecture and implementation to monitoring, documentation, and security-working with cutting-edge technologies in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
What You'll Do:
  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-level and high-speed network topologies that support satellite ground systems.
  • Manage infrastructure that includes Linux IDM and Windows Servers for DNS and account management.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Arista switches, Juniper firewalls, and NAS/SAN storage systems.
  • Monitor and manage multicast traffic, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and network health.
  • Perform vulnerability scanning, system hardening, and remediation in compliance with security best practices.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation including network diagrams, system configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with system engineers and developers to support integration and ensure network readiness for mission operations.
  • Utilize VMware vSphere to manage virtual machines and network virtualization.
  • Support Red Hat Linux environments across various components of the ground system architecture.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • Enterprise network design and topology
  • High-speed networking and performance tuning
  • Linux/Windows server integration and management
  • Hands-on experience with Juniper, Arista, and storage systems
  • Solid understanding of routing protocols and multicast
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity scanning tools and mitigation techniques
  • Experience with virtual environments (VMware vSphere)
  • Strong working knowledge of Red Hat Linux

Work Environment:

Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Technology or Engineering
  • Minimum 8 years of experience with Multicast, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, etc)
  • Minimum 8 years of experience with vulnerability scanning, hardening and resolution of findings
  • Minimum 8 years of experience with VMware vSphere and virtual machines
  • Minimum 8 years of experience with Red Hat Linux operating system
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree
  • Written skills to include development and maintenance of documentation for network, system, operations, etc.
  • Creative thinker with demonstrated success leading the software development life cycle
