The Vice President, Commercial Sales Strategy & Sales Operations will be a pivotal leader within the organization, working closely with cross-functional teams. This individual will be responsible for crafting and implementing sales strategies that drive profitable revenue growth and enhance overall sales efficiency. The role includes overseeing the sales operations team, ensuring alignment with the company's overarching business goals. Additionally, the VP will lead the Shopper Marketing function to create impactful digital promotions for customers, utilizing data to boost awareness and growth. This role also involves heading the Commercial Innovation team, which focuses on identifying and executing process improvements and revenue-generating opportunities within the sales function, organized as project teams to meet annual objectives. Furthermore, the VP will manage both the Non-Food and Food COT Category & Shopper Insights Team, ensuring the execution of all Category Management initiatives and identifying growth opportunities.

This position will be based in our Ewing, NJ headquarters on a hybrid schedule (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are required in office days).

Role Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Operations Execution:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve business targets and drive market expansion.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align sales strategies with overall business goals and objectives.

  • Drive overall alignment and strategies around SBU identified brand classifications

  • Execution of DSMP, MAP, Channel and Market strategies

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $248,000 - $388,300. This position is also eligible for a bonus.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal pay parity. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.

  • Oversee the sales operations team, ensuring efficient processes and systems are in place to support the sales force.

  • Implement and manage sales performance metrics, analytics, and reporting to monitor and improve sales effectiveness.

  • Lead overall sales execution of the S&OP process

  • Oversee brand allocation process when required

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the sales strategy, operations, shopper, commercial innovation and CSI teams to build a high-performing and motivated group.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team and deliver against the Church & Dwight behaviors.

Commercial Innovation Execution:

  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline sales operations and enhance productivity.

  • Ensure the effective use of Project Management to identify revenue generating opportunities to include but not limited to Systems, Processes, Bracket Pricing, THOR, Sales Portal and other tools to support the sales team's activities.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work closely with marketing, product development, and customer service teams to ensure a cohesive approach to market strategy and customer engagement.

  • Facilitate clear and consistent communication within the sales team and across the organization. To include: Monthly Newsletter, Weekly Sales Strategy Updates to the field, Spark Call facilitation, etc.

Budget & Resource Management:

  • Manage the overall sales SG&A operations forecasting and budget process, ensuring effective allocation of resources to support sales initiatives.

  • Evaluate and procure necessary tools and technologies to enhance the sales process.

  • Oversee, track and manage sales data contracts and overall annual Data Budgets

Market & Competitive Analysis:

  • Conduct thorough market and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for growth and areas for improvement.

  • Provide insights and recommendations based on market trends and competitive landscape.

Category Shopper Insights Leadership

  • Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive category management strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives. This includes analyzing market trends, consumer insights, and competitive dynamics to identify growth opportunities and optimize product assortments.

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across various departments, including sales, marketing, supply chain, and finance, to ensure cohesive execution of category strategies. Facilitate effective communication and teamwork to drive category performance and achieve business goals.

  • Oversee the continuous monitoring and analysis of category performance metrics to identify areas for improvement. Utilize data-driven insights to refine strategies, enhance product positioning, and drive profitability. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to maximize category growth and efficiency.

Shopper Marketing Plan Execution:

  • Lead the overall development and implementation of comprehensive shopper marketing strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives. This includes leveraging consumer insights, market trends, and data analytics to create impactful digital and in-store promotions that drive customer engagement and sales growth.

  • Direct the collaboration with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, product development, and external partners, to ensure seamless execution of shopper marketing initiatives. Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders to align marketing activities with broader business goals and drive successful outcomes.

  • Oversee the monitoring and analysis of shopper marketing campaign performance, utilizing key metrics and data insights to assess effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. Continuously refine strategies and tactics to enhance ROI, improve customer experience, and drive incremental sales growth.

  • Support the Top to Top Partnership with AUC Marketing as our Shopper Marketing Agency Partner (A division of Advantage Solutions)

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in sales strategy, operations and field sales, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful sales strategies.

  • Strong understanding of sales processes, CRM systems, and sales analytics tools.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically to drive business results.
