Job Description Summary:

MDI is seeking a Strategic Marketing Intern to support CEO-led initiatives that elevate brand visibility, accelerate marketing innovation, and strengthen communications across the organization. This position is ideal for a dynamic, creative, and analytical student who is eager to contribute to a purpose-driven, growth-oriented enterprise.

The intern will collaborate cross-functionally with departments and external partners on key projects tied to acquisition integration, national event sponsorships, and thought leadership. The role offers hands-on experience in executive communications, brand development, and strategic marketing.

Essential Functions:



  • Support CEO- and marketing-led initiatives through high-visibility contributions, including asset preparation, messaging drafts, and campaign coordination.
  • Conduct market, sector, and competitor research to inform brand positioning, messaging, and strategic decisions across MDI's commercial and employment service lines.
  • Partner with the CEO, HR, and Marketing to support internal and external communication efforts during periods of organizational change, including acquisitions and team transitions.
  • Advance brand strategy by applying MDI's visual and verbal identity in ways that promote cultural alignment and mission integration across new or transitioning teams.
  • Develop creative content for employee engagement efforts, supporting cohesion and clarity during key campaigns and events.
  • Support MDI's 2026 Special Olympics USA Games campaign
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining MDI's marketing asset library, ensuring consistent naming, tagging, and brand usage across digital platforms and future campaigns.
  • Draft and design visual and written content across internal and external platforms-including social media, newsletters, slide decks, and event materials-in alignment with MDI's brand and messaging.
  • Support internal communications that promote cultural cohesion, reinforce strategic priorities, and enhance organizational transparency.
  • Adheres to organizational policies and brand standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support departmental goals and campaign execution

Qualifications:



  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business, or a related field
  • Demonstrates interest in brand strategy, social impact, or executive-level communication
  • Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to contribute to presentations, collaborate across teams, and tailor messaging for diverse audiences
  • Possesses strong storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify and adapt messages for broad audiences
  • Maintains professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality when supporting CEO- or board-facing communications
  • Is proactive and self-motivated, with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
  • Functions well in a fast-paced, diverse, and collaborative environment
  • Is detail-oriented, with strong follow-through on assignments
  • Demonstrates creativity, problem-solving ability, and a solution-focused mindset
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; employment eligibility will be verified through E-Verify.

Environment and Physical Demands:



  • A traditional work week (Monday-Friday) aligned with MDI core hours; occasional work during non-traditional hours may be required
  • Hybrid position (approximately 40% remote / 60% in-office)
  • Work is performed in a typical office or remote setting and may include:

    • Continuous use of a computer monitor, mouse, keyboard, telephone, and other communication tools
    • Occasional lifting, reaching, hand rotation, stooping, kneeling, or crouching


  • May occasionally work in a factory environment, which may include high noise levels, machinery, conveyors, dust, chemicals, odors, and temperature fluctuations
  • Requires basic vision and ability to meet standard screen-based work requirements
