Job Summary

The Personal Lines IT team is seeking a Quality Engineer to bring a test driven, quality first mindset to our current and upcoming initiatives. As part of a group of full stack developers, analysts and product owners you'll be shaping and executing our test strategy to deliver consistent, reliable, high performing solutions. This includes building test automation as well as devising exploratory test plans with an eye towards both functional and non-functional requirements. Work Location

This is not a remote position. Candidates who are located within 50 miles of a West Bend office location will work a hybrid schedule (at least 3 days/week) for collaboration days, team meetings or other in-person events. The position can be based in West Bend, Madison or Appleton.



Responsibilities & Qualifications

Required

    • 2 or more years of relevant experience as a QA engineer
    • Experience with test automation frameworks (Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, etc.)
    • Proficiency with Object Oriented programming concepts and languages (C#, Java, etc.)
    • Worked within Agile and CI/CD environments
    • Experience with cloud native solutions and API testing
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science related field or equivalent experience

Preferred

    • .Net experience and proficiency
    • Familiarity with scripting languages and ReactJS
    • Experience with Postman, JSON and XML
    • Experience with database querying and testing (SQL and NoSQL)
    • P&C Insurance knowledge

Responsibilities

    • Collaborates with product owners and business analysts to ensure hidden, missed, or invalid use cases or conditions are clarified, as well as establishing and understanding of users' workflows and wants/needs
    • Designs and implements automated test suites throughout the software development lifecycle, including unit, component, acceptance and regression tests
    • Partners with developers to review and suggest test cases
    • Performs exploratory testing to compliment automated tests to look for user experience improvements
    • Invests in continuous improvement for self and the team's testing approach/strategy to optimize feedback loops for system quality and reliability

Salary Statement

The salary range for this position is $77,000 - $131,000/yr

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.Compensation decisions are made by West Bend and are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
