The Midwest's largest family-owned security company is looking for a detail-oriented, versatile and personable individual to be our Benefits Communication Specialist. About this Role The primary purpose of this position is to assist in the day-to-day administrative function of benefits administration including but not limited to enrollment, claims, worker's compensation and other additional benefits. Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Create and manage communication materials including designing and producing brochures, emails, presentations, web, video, and other materials to educate employees about their benefits.
- Complete, verify, and process benefit enrollment/change/cancellation forms and documentation.
- Assists in the preparation of claims and applications for benefits such as disability insurance and life insurance.
- Communicate and correspond with employees regarding questions, company benefit programs and policies.
- Contact insurance companies or providers regarding insurance claims or questions.
- Process all COBRA notifications and payments including LOA benefit payments.
- Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database as needed.
- Complete all verifications as related to benefit coverage and eligibility per ACA guidelines.
- Assist in the reconciliation of invoices from benefit providers on a monthly basis.
- Coordinate the administrative aspects of the worker's compensation program, including gathering of forms, investigations and claim filing.
- Assist in the preparation of correspondence and other communication and educational materials regarding the company benefits, workers compensation, and safety programs.
- Maintains strict confidentiality, in accordance with HIPAA regulations, always.
Preferred Qualifications and Knowledge:
- High School diploma required, with college courses with an emphasis in business, Human Resources, or a related area of study, preferred.
- Previous experience in an HR environment a plus.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including being proficient in pivot tables, v-lookup, and formulas
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent time management skills, be detail oriented and able to handle multiple tasks.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check.
