Position Summary

The Senior Director of Market Research and Competitive Intelligence is the functional lead for primary market research and competitive intelligence (CI). In partnership with other colleagues, the Senior Director provides objective, in-depth, and actionable insights to drive Rytelo commercial success across all current and future indications and geographies.

This position is remote with a corporate headquarters in Foster City, CA and Parsippany, NJ. The Senior Director will report to the Senior Vice President Commercial Strategy and Operations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary market research and CI subject matter expert
  • Act as a collaborative partner and strategic advisor for brand and leadership teams; proactively engage with brand team to help shape brand strategies and tactics and drive actionable insights
  • Lead the proposal, design, and execution of qualitative and quantitative primary market research initiatives to support Rytelo's current and future indications across all geographies
  • Analyze and interpret results from research in context of collective insights; provide relevant, timely, impactful, and actionable reports and presentations for the Brand and Commercial leadership team
  • Address business questions, uncover opportunities, evaluate performance, and assess impact of Sales and Marketing tactics
  • Identify, craft, and complete market research and inform commercial strategy and tactics through collective insights
  • Provide objective, in-depth, and actionable intelligence about current and future market and competitive forces in order to escalate business implications and disruptive market events/trends to near and long-term strategies
  • Establish, maintain, and enhance appropriate CI processes to support inline and pipeline planning
  • Drive and execute CI plan by leading the collection of CI from secondary and primary sources, managing external vendors, and synthesizing and disseminating intelligence and associated implications
  • Coordinate, plan, and execute company-wide CI activities at scientific conferences and consolidate and report back critical findings and implications
  • Partner across the organization to incorporate Clinical, Medical Affairs, Market Access, and Regulatory Affairs perspectives that inform CI viewpoint
  • Partner with and manage third-party vendors to meet business needs in an effective and efficient manner

Competencies

  • Strong understanding of various market research methodologies, CI applications, and key internal/external data/information sources
  • Deep functional expertise in primary market research and CI
  • Deep understanding of business drivers, opportunities, and challenges
  • Ability to present research and intelligence findings clearly and concisely

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, science, finance, or related field required; Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 12 years of pharmaceutical/biotechnology experience, including at least 5 years of experience in Market Research and CI
  • Breadth and depth of various commercial functional expertise preferred
  • Significant experience in US oncology/hematology market preferred

Salary Statement:

Offered compensation is determined based on market data, internal equity, and an applicant's relevant skills, experience, and educational background. The salary ranges displayed below are only for those who, if selected for the role, will perform work in the specific locations listed. Please note the employment opportunity is not limited to these locations.

General Salary Range: $260,000 to $280,000
