State Highway Administration's (SHA) District 5 is currently recruiting for an Inventory Specialist (Shop Administrative Technician III) in Leonardtown Shop. This position is open to anyone who meets the minimum and selective qualifications listed below. The resulting list of eligible candidates will be used to fill this vacancy and may be used to fill future vacancies within State Highway Administration (SHA).
Nature of Work: The main purpose of this position is to pick up, receive and deliver parts and supplies. Additionally, to take a physical inventory of supplies, materials, and equipment on hand. The Inventory Specialist enters and retrieves data by computer and prepares, receives, approves, and processes requisitions, invoices and purchase orders for stock replacement, equipment repairs and replacement via computer entry. This position is a MD Corporate Credit Card holder and must maintain records of usage and reconciliation. The Inventory Specialist inspects received items for quality and damage and ensures they are issued to the proper individuals. Lastly, this position stocks all supplies and materials for maintenance shop, personnel, and contacts vendors with any issues.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Two (2) years of experience performing administrative support work and/or receiving, storing, and issuing supplies, materials and equipment in a storeroom, warehouse or other supply storage facility.
Selective Qualification: One (1) year of the required experience must have involved procurement and inventory processes.
The ideal candidate should possess the following:
- Ability to operate computerized systems such as Financial Management Information System (FMIS), Maximo, Emergency
- Operations Reporting System (EORS), Component Content Management System (CCMS).
- Ability to receive parts and supplies, and take physical inventory of supplies, materials and equipment,
- Have the ability to retrieve data via personal computer.
Special Requirements:
The employee in this position is subject to 24 hour call-in and must be able to be reached by phone.
The employee must be able to
pass SHA Level I Small Procurement Training Certification during the
six-month probationary period,
