Position Summary The Director of Enterprise Planning plays a critical role in translating executive vision into enterprise-wide execution. Leading the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO), this position is responsible for establishing a top-down, structured approach to project planning and delivery that aligns with the organization's strategic priorities. Reporting to the Managing Director of Enterprise Planning & Advancement, the Director ensures that all enterprise initiatives are governed with clarity, accountability and measurable outcomes.
This role is instrumental in creating transparency across the organization by developing and maintaining executive-level dashboards and reporting mechanisms that showcase the return on investment (ROI) and progress of strategic initiatives. The Director also partners closely with the Research & Innovation Director to operationalize high-level ideas and innovations into actionable project plans that drive growth and transformation. Through disciplined project governance and cross-functional collaboration, this leader ensures that the enterprise is focused, aligned, and equipped to deliver on its most critical initiatives.
Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Alignment:
- Lead strategic evaluations of new opportunities and provide actionable insights and recommendations to the Executive Team.
- Facilitate decision-making processes to ensure alignment, clarity, and effective implementation of strategic initiatives.
- Advise the COO and executive team on key strategic initiatives, providing clear, data-driven guidance to support objective decision-making.
- Develop and maintain executive-level dashboards to track initiative performance, provide transparency, and clearly communicate ROI, progress, and value delivered across the enterprise.
Enterprise Project Management:
- Lead the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO), ensuring consistent application of project delivery methodologies, governance, and tools aligned with strategic priorities.
- Define and set clear criteria for what qualifies as an EPMO-managed project versus those to be managed within business units.
- Develop and implement a project management framework that enables non-EPMO teams to independently manage departmental-level projects.
- Oversee enterprise-wide project planning, execution, and performance tracking, ensuring initiatives have clear objectives, timelines, accountability, and measurable outcomes.
- Maintain and enhance project management tools, standards, dashboards, and reporting to provide visibility into project status, risks, ROI, and outcomes.
- Lead and coordinate Integration Management Office (IMO) activities related to mergers and acquisitions.
- Partner with key business units to scope, prioritize, and deliver critical initiatives, proactively identifying risks and making necessary adjustments to keep projects on track.
Collaboration with Research & Development:
- Partner closely with the Research & Development Director to translate high-level strategic ideas and innovations from the executive team into actionable, well-scoped project plans.
- Support prioritization of innovation initiatives that directly contribute to organizational growth, operational efficiency, or strategic goals.
- Support the integration of R&D efforts into the broader enterprise planning framework, enabling seamless execution and visibility.
- Continuously evaluate and recommend new technologies, methodologies, and innovative solutions that drive organizational growth and operational efficiency.
Decision Support & Risk Management:
- Anticipate, identify, and proactively mitigate risks associated with strategic initiatives and organizational changes.
- Ensure strategic decisions and initiatives comply with all regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
- Develop and provide compelling documentation and processes for regulators to demonstrate compliance and effective risk management.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Build, mentor, and sustain high-performing teams capable of executing complex strategic initiatives.
- Foster collaboration, resilience, and accountability among team members and cross-functional stakeholders.
Education & Experience
Knowledge of:
- Strategic planning methodologies and executive-level partnership processes.
- Innovation frameworks, best practices, and emerging technologies.
- M&A planning and integration strategies.
- Enterprise-level project management methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, and EOS.
- Financial budgeting, forecasting, and resource optimization techniques.
- Regulatory compliance requirements and risk management strategies.
- Developing and utilizing dashboards to communicate outcomes and showcase ROI.
Ability to:
- Lead and manage the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) effectively.
- Translate high-level strategic vision into actionable, measurable objectives.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's or advanced degree in Business, Innovation, Technology, Organizational Management, or related field preferred.
- 10+ years of leadership experience in strategic planning, project management, or related roles.
- Proven track record of effective decision-making, strategy execution, and successful project management in complex environments.
- Relevant project management certifications (e.g., PMP, PgMP, SAFe, PRINCE2, Lean Six Sigma) preferred.
- Demonstrated strength in managing high-pressure situations, complex projects, and difficult stakeholder dynamics.
- Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical capabilities, and problem-solving skills.
Benefits and Compensation Salary offered is based on factors, including but not limited to, the job duties, required qualifications and relevant experience, and local market trends. The role may be eligible for bonus or incentives based on company and individual performance.
