Job Details We are seeking applicants for an open rank faculty position with a focus on interdisciplinary research and teaching in health sciences for our innovative Doctor of Health Science (DHSc) program and Ph.D. in Health Science Program. The successful candidate will play a critical role in teaching and mentoring doctoral students, while fostering an environment of collaborative learning and innovation. We are seeking applicants with expertise in a broad array of subjects relevant to the advancement of the health professions including but not limited to health professions education, healthcare administration and leadership, public health, health policy, healthcare disparities and equity, healthcare delivery and practice transformation, clinical trials and pharmaceuticals, and interprofessional healthcare practice and education. Particular interest will be shown to applications describing expertise in quantitative methods, statistics, data science, implementation science, mixed-methods research, and evidence synthesis research.Teaching: Provide instruction in various areas, including doctoral level courses on data science, analytics, research methodologies and evidence synthesis. Train graduate students to become productive and thoughtful practitioners and consumers of research across multiple program areas. Research: Conduct impactful, cutting-edge research. Contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the health professions. Engage in interdisciplinary collaborations within and outside the institution. Student Mentorship: Guide and mentor DHSc and Ph.D. students in their research projects and professional development. Foster a supportive, inclusive, collaborative and challenging academic environment while mentoring doctoral students on their academic and professional trajectories. Service: Participate in the service responsibilities of the faculty role, which include committee membership, program development, and collaboration with community partners. Program Development: Contribute to the continued development of the DHSc and PhD programs including building interdisciplinary partnerships across the enterprise and increasing curricular offerings to students. Admissions and Recruitment: Work with and support the program director and the office of admissions and enrollment to plan and manage the program's recruitment and admissions process, including interviewing and selecting students, representing the program at recruitment forums, contributing to marketing and communication efforts, and assisting with planning of enrollment targets and program budget. Departmental Engagement: Participate as a faculty member in our dynamic and interdisciplinary Department of Health Science and Clinical Practice within the Jefferson College of Health Professions. Job Description Qualifications: A research-focused doctoral degree (PhD, DrPH, DHA, PsyD, PharmD, DHSc, DBA, DMSc, EdD, MD, DNP etc.) earned (by the candidates anticipated start date) in health science, health professions education, healthcare administration, public health, health policy, global health, sociomedical sciences, epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental health sciences, translational research or closely related health professions disciplines (e.g., economics, political science, psychology, counseling, public policy, sociology, nutrition, etc.). Demonstrated record of achievement in research, teaching and mentorship. Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong foundation in statistical analysis, research design, and program evaluation. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of professionals, including social scientists, behavioral scientists, clinical scientists, clinicians, and policy scholars. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to addressing race-based, gender-based, ability-based, and other biopsychosocial barriers in all professional areas. Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills for effectively collaborating and maintaining good working relationships with a diverse population.
