Summary:

We are seeking an energetic and motivated Black Belt (Junior) to support Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) initiatives for the National Guard Bureau (NGB). The Junior Black Belt will work alongside senior process improvement professionals to facilitate and implement operational efficiencies and cost savings through Lean Six Sigma methodologies.


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead and facilitate Kaizen events to identify process inefficiencies and improve operations across departments.
  • Support the development of project charters, work breakdown structures, and implementation plans.
  • Assist in gathering and analyzing performance data to inform process improvements.
  • Work with senior Black Belts or Master Black Belts to ensure alignment with enterprise goals and strategic outcomes.
  • Document process improvement findings and track implementation results.
  • Promote the use of Lean Six Sigma methodologies and best practices throughout the organization.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong facilitation skills to lead structured workshops and solutioning sessions.
  • Knowledge of DoD or federal organizational structures and process management expectations.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (from a recognized institution or agency).
  • Minimum 2 - 4 years of related experience.
  • Shall have the experience in leading Kaizens in a fast-paced environment; facilitating groups through process mapping, root cause analysis, brainstorming, business impact assessments, gap analysis and project planning.
  • Must possess and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field.
