Core Responsibilities

- Accurately complete designated paperwork (Operational Inspection Form; Daily Operation Net Weight Verification - use PC when possible)
- Disassemble pack-off equipment and cover up LE-400; return unused packaging material to its proper storage area
- Set-up packing station three (bagger dates, film, tape machine, printer for start-up and changeovers)
- Operate scaling and bagging equipment
- Install, adjust and refill film on all baggers as needed
- Inspect packaged product and remove any out of spec product
- Place all paperwork in designated bins at the end of shift
- Stage film according to the production schedule
- Remove unused film at the end of production; put it on the film cart or on a pallet in a clean storage bag for later use
- When running into combos assist Line 3 Packer with weighing, tagging and storing combos in the main freezer
- Perform weights and measurements every 60 minutes, at minimum
- Complete Daily Operations check
- Complete Net Weight Verification - (use PC when possible, not paper)
- Re-inspect, re-box, sticker, hand-pack, pre-rinse the lines and metal detect as needed
- Perform hourly piece counts and adjust the machine to run in spec
- Complete hourly metal detection check sheets
- Rerun all rejected bags back through the post bagger metal detector
- Notify FSQA of all bags that get rejected by the post bagger metal detector more than once
- Record information about rejected bags
- Help dump product back up onto bucket conveyor
- Relieve Bag Operator 1 & 2 for breaks and lunches and as needed
- Assist Bag Operator 1 & 2 as needed
- Extra sanitation duties as assigned per the Food Safety Policy
- Set-up throughout pack-off area
- Tear Down:
- Remove film from carts for sanitation
- Wipe down bagger before covering
- Cover Bagger
- Perform other duties as directed when lines are not operational
- Ensure that all recyclable material is disposed of properly
- Perform other duties as directed when lines are not operational
- Assist if needed with interruptions in elevator will palletize offline
Performance Expectation
- Set-up your specific workstation and throughout pack-off area
- Maintain a clean work area at all times
SAFETY PROCEDURES AND REQUIREMENTS
- All designated personal protection equipment must be used
- Lock-out all designated equipment prior to disassembly
- Report all safety concerns to supervisors
- 100% compliance with Smithfield GMP, SOP and Safety programs and any other company training
- 100% compliance with RTE AREA (employee clean room) procedures
