DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Psychological Services Associate (PSA) within the Corrections sector, you will deliver essential psychological services under the direct clinical oversight of a Licensed Psychologist Manager, catering to individuals incarcerated in your designated State Correctional Institution. This role is pivotal in addressing the mental health and emotional well-being of inmates during their time with the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, ensuring that their psychological needs are met with both efficiency and effectiveness. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with the Licensed Psychologist Manager to plan and organize outpatient mental health services, which encompasses the creation and implementation of Individual Recovery Plans tailored to each patient. Under supervision, you may also administer psychological and intelligence assessments, conduct mental status examinations, and prepare comprehensive psychological evaluations. Additionally, you will facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions for a diverse range of inmates, including those diagnosed with mental illnesses, individuals convicted of sex offenses, and those with dual diagnoses, as well as providing crisis intervention services as necessary. - Full-time employment, 40 hours/week.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $61,903.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- A Master's degree in psychology or a closely related field, which includes fifteen graduate level credits in psychology, counseling, educational counseling, rehabilitation, human development, learning, or motivation.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
