StoneTurn is seeking a qualified Managing Director to join our Forensic Accounting and Compliance & Monitoring practices.

Job Summary

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the performance of financial and accounting-related analyses typically performed within the investigation environment. You will also supervise Managers and staff-level professionals to deliver coordinated solutions to our clients. You will add value to our team by having relatable management experience within a professional services firm or corporation where you have developed strong supervision, management, analytical and prioritization skills. A network of business contacts including attorneys at law firms and corporations is a plus. This position requires you to be a person with strong interpersonal, communication and technical skills. You will also assist in providing services to the Compliance & Monitoring practice area as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and management of forensic accounting investigations, providing guidance on financial analyses and investigative techniques
  • Collaborate across StoneTurn's practice areas to deliver integrated services, taking a lead role in compliance and monitoring matters (as needed)
  • Ensure client needs and objectives are effectively incorporated into work plans and deliverables
  • Oversee teams in compiling and analyzing facts to develop, substantiate, and critique theories, claims, or conclusions
  • Communicate findings and work product clearly to management and clients, both verbally and in writing
  • Manage engagement administration, including budgeting, billing, and conflict resolution
  • Lead the Request for Proposal (RFP) process for forensic accounting investigations, including developing budget estimates
  • Drive accountability across multiple priorities, ensuring timely delivery and quality control of client work while managing expectations
  • Spearhead business development efforts, identifying opportunities, expanding client relationships, and fostering internal cross-functional collaborations
  • Effectively mitigate risks associated with engagements
  • Foster a professional and collaborative team environment while maintaining confidentiality and proprietary client information
  • Facilitate client and internal meetings to document objectives, recommend solutions, and determine optimal strategies
  • Mentor and develop team members-Managers, Senior Consultants, and Consultants-by providing structured feedback, training, and performance evaluations

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in business, accounting, or finance
  • CPA obtained (or in process/eligible) or advanced degree business, accounting or economics
  • 9+ years of strong experience in accounting or finance. Prior audit, consulting experience at a 'Big 4' or mid-size professional services firm or relevant government experience is preferred
  • Strong analytical, technical and interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Excellent management, supervision, and prioritization skills
  • Commitment to exemplary client service delivery
  • Must be flexible with work schedule and travel requirements of client service projects
  • Ability to be physically in-office three days per week

Desirable Qualifications

  • Forensic certifications such as CFF, CAMS or CFE
  • MBA, ASA, and/or CFA
  • Client service experience preferred, national public accounting firm experience
  • Network of relationships within law firms and corporate legal departments
  • Foreign language capabilities
  • Experience providing litigation services
  • Experience within crypto-currency and blockchain investigations
