Summary: The Sr. Manager, Risk Management under the leadership of the President, USAL will provide essential and high quality risk services to all associates. The Sr. Manager will provide leadership for developing and implementing a Risk Management strategy, and creating standards for safety, quality, training, and risk management for the organization. This position will collaborate with the President and other functional leaders as appropriate to ensure safety standards for the compliance program are administered properly. The Sr. Manager will govern the Emergency Response Plans as well as create initiatives to ensure environmental compliance. Essential Responsibilities (List in order of importance)
Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises one or more employees. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems. Qualifications: Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; 8 to 10 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and transportation industry experience. Industry specific continuing education required. DOT/OSHA experience required at a motor carrier. Core Competencies:

The associate is occasionally required to travel to other sites, including out-of-state, where applicable, for business. The associate must frequently move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds. Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While the job is generally performed in an office environment, the associate is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, areas in which moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals are present, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the office environment is typically quiet, but the associate may be occasionally exposed to loud noise levels. Minimal travel is required for this position (up to 20% of the time and on a domestic basis). * Is legally able to work in the United States.
