ASML has prioritized to apply Cloud throughout its IT services landscape. The Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) develops and operates a global multi-cloud platform using Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The CCoE is part of ASML's IT organization.

As an Azure Solution Architect you work closely together with DevOps teams in their effort to develop and deploy solutions on Azure. This can by solution design, sharing knowledge, co-creating, agreeing on a joint milestone planning, discuss cost management aspects and/or set-up a PoC/MVP yourself.

This role is part of the Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE). This teams vision is to provide a flexible and reliable automated cloud platform to enable accelerated and sustainable adoption of cloud across ASML and maximizing the ability to realize its benefits while reducing risks, supporting ASMLs growth and bring innovative cloud solutions to the teams.

Role and responsibilities
  • Provide expertise and leadership regarding cloud architecture for both infrastructure and applications in Azure.
  • Contribute to our Azure technical roadmap.
  • Participate and contribute in cloud architecture for cloud based applications.
  • Together with DevOps teams create solution design using cloud native patterns were possible.
  • Assist with improving automation capabilities of the DevOps teams (e.g. using CI/CD toolset).
  • Detect new needed cloud services to be developed and align with CCoE product owner.
  • Review and/or approve technical solutions - assurance of compliance with directives, standards and guidelines.
  • Ensure that the implementation is in line with design.
  • Ensures security and reliability is integrated into all cloud architecture solutions.
  • Create a joint planning with the DevOps team and drive progress.
  • Discuss cloud cost management and cost forecast with the DevOps team to raise cost awareness and ensure the team plans for budget together with the CCoE Cloud Cost Management team.
  • Develop PoC/PoV as and when required.
  • Document the solution design and all other relevant information.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's in IT, Business Management, Computer Science or Electronics. Master's Degree a plus.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Cloud Engineer or Solution Architect
  • Must have experience working with Azure.
  • Must have experience designing, configuring and using IaaS services (like VM, Azure Kubernetes Services, networking, storage).
  • Must have experience designing, configuring and using PaaS services (like WebApp, Database services, Kubernetes, Data Lake, Databricks etc.).
  • Must possess extensive knowledge in cloud based data integration patterns and architectures.
  • Must have experience troubleshooting complex scenarios related to an Application Deployment.
  • Engineering and coding skills applied in an Agile way.
  • Proven track record in technical architecture design, solution definition, change/risk management.
  • Work experience from large, international companies and have dealt with or worked for global service providers.

Other information
  • This position is located on-site in San Jose. It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.
  • A flexible workplace arrangement may be available to employees working in roles conducive to remote work (up to two days a week).
  • Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. Occasionally required to move around the campus.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves for entire duration of shift.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently:

$110,625-184,375

Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.

The Company offers employees and their families, medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to participate in the Company's 401k plan.
