ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Work from verbal or written instructions such as blueprints, drawings, electrical schematics, and service manuals to plan, layout and perform difficult and complex equipment installation. Perform maintenance and repair work on a variety of systems, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and vacuum. Maintain building by making plumbing, electrical, rigging, and mechanical repairs.
  • Determine schedules of repair or regular maintenance to ensure production schedules are maintained.
  • Visually inspect and troubleshoot machinery to diagnose cause of malfunctions. Tear down machines and equipment and make necessary replacement of parts or repairs. Improvise methods and adapt tooling where blueprints and procedures are lacking. Perform regular and preventative maintenance operations. Perform daily checks on air systems and waste control equipment.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools (saws, drills, grinders, etc.), and machines (lathes, drill press, millers, etc) to fabricate parts, repair, or modify machinery and components using a variety of test and measuring equipment such as multi-meters, calipers, dial gauges and thermometers. Operate fork truck and other lift equipment.
  • Assist supervisor, engineers, vendors and other to coordinate new installations, repairs and machine moves. Guide and instruct helpers and/or vendors with assigned projects.
  • Maintain inventory and crib for maintenance materials. Ensure resources and supplies are available requisitioning additional supplies as required. Report faulty operations and materials along with other problems to immediate supervisor. Maintain good housekeeping practices on machines and in work area. Comply with all company and safety rules and regulations. Wear necessary personal protective equipment as required.
  • Actively participate in cross-training, cost savings and team activities to improve processes. Maintain appropriate tack and diplomacy in dealing with co-workers, team members and supervisors.



Knowledge:



  • Use of elementary geometry, algebra and trigonometric principles together with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, manuals, various types of precision measuring instruments. Interpretation of data and measuring devices requiring advanced skills knowledge. Equivalent to 1 to 3 years of applied training in a particular or specialized occupation.
  • Must be fluent in English, (speaking, reading, writing)



Experience:



  • 3-5 years' maintenance experience required



Physical Demand:



  • Moderate physical demand frequently (over 40% and up to 70%) lifting or moving average weight material (over 25lbs. and up to 60lbs.).
