Description:
As a Senior Engineer in Vehicle Dynamics Development you will support the testing, tuning, development and validation of the best riding and handling vehicles in the world. You will work alongside other development and CAE engineers, mechanical and software engineers and system owners, key stakeholders and management across the company, to develop and deliver world-class suspension, steering, braking, wheel/tire and vehicle dynamics systems from concept to production.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Develop, iterate, and optimize vehicle hardware/software calibrations using both subjective evaluation and data-driven methodologies
  • Install, configure, and operate robust data acquisition systems on prototype vehicles
  • Plan and execute test procedures, then analyze and document results for both OEM and benchmark vehicles
  • Conduct objective and subjective assessments of vehicle attributes including ride comfort, handling, and steering feel
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software issues in a fast-paced development environment
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including chassis, controls, and software engineering, to drive technical decisions
  • Support the maintenance and upgrade of vehicle dynamics prototype fleet
  • Manage and prioritize multiple complex projects under tight deadlines
  • Travel as needed for vehicle testing, validation, and benchmarking activities


Qualifications:



  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
  • 5+ years of experience in the automotive industry with deep knowledge of vehicle dynamics principles
  • Proven track record in delivering vehicles with world-class handling and ride characteristics
  • Experience in both subjective tuning and objective testing, including data acquisition and analysis
  • Proficient in tuning systems such as:
  • Coil/air springs, dampers, anti-roll bars, bushings, tires
  • Suspension control software, electric power steering (EPS)
  • Stability control and torque vectoring systems
  • Familiarity with simulation tools such as ADAMS, CarRealTime, CarMaker, or CarSim
  • Working knowledge of Matlab/Simulink; Python experience is a plus
  • Strong communication skills, team-oriented mindset, and a desire to innovate in a dynamic environment

The base pay range above represents the low and high end of the base compensation range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual base compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, actual experience, and job performance.
