Full Time Description
Job Summary: The human resources generalist will own the daily operational functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including but not limited to recruitment, onboarding and offboarding, leave administration, benefits administration, staff training, HRIS management, agency reporting, and enforcing company policies and practices. Essential Job Functions: 1. Conducts recruitment effort for all non-administrative positions and works with hiring managers and the communications specialist to determine the best method and best practices for advertisement including utilizing social media and building university partnerships. All while being committed to promoting opportunities for a diverse and highly-qualified candidate pool. 2. Manages the HR portion of the onboarding and offboarding process for staff, including data management through the necessary systems and sending communications as necessary. 3. In coordination with the payroll & benefits specialist, conducts new hire HR training, such as during New Teacher Orientation, and assists new hires as appropriate. 4. Co-administers district benefits along with the payroll & benefits specialist, and serves as the subject matter expert for employee inquiries and support. 5. Serves as the main point of contact and coordination for staff leave requests, including FMLA. Works with the payroll & benefits specialist and/or the Director of Human Resources as necessary on certain leave cases. 7. Manages the workers compensation process for employees. 8. Manages the employee life cycle for Summer Excel employees. 9. Manages the coordination and delivery of HR training programs. 10. Serves as main point person for the contracted substitute service partner (ESS). 11. Manages the information as needed within HRIS platforms, including salary, name changes, additive assignments, etc., and ensures that information is maintained for multi-departmental needs; sends confirmations to staff as appropriate. 12. Manages the contracts, assignment letters, and reasonable assurance letters process. 13. Manages the unemployment insurance process on behalf of the district. 14. Completes necessary staff reports such as the Department of Public Instruction's WISEStaff staffing report, the EEOC and New Hire reporting. 15. Proactively suggests process improvement suggestions, and routinely reviews practices for continuous improvement. 16. Gathers and manages data for HR metrics, such as employee turnover rates. 17. Partners with the Director of Human Resources and the Business Office team for HRIS platform migration and collaborates on identified improvements. 18. Supports the Director of Human Resources in preparation for Employee Relations Committee meetings and attends them as necessary. 19. Other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications:
Environment: This job primarily operates in a professional indoor environment but will include occasional travel to other SASD buildings or out-of-district meetings and training (up to 10%).
