POSITION SUMMARY:
A Senior Consultant works with project team members to assist Principal Consultant(s) to provide seasoned
expertise for our clients, partners and professionals to succeed. Senior Consultants may also lead projects in
addition to working with team members and clients to perform consulting functions such as: administrative
services; facilitate requirements-gathering workshops; systems engineering; network technology; security
expertise; perform needs analysis; training and evaluation; hosting webinars; providing telephonic client support;
provider outreach; re-engineering client business processes; developing detailed requirements and system
specifications for new information technology endeavors; overseeing and/or performing IV&V; procurement;
quality assurance testing or research activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Perform consulting services in collaboration with Principal Consultant with Direct Labor Utilization (DLU) at
or above the business plan goal, as specified annually (Goal = 80% Company DLU Target)
* Participate and collaborate in the business development and sales process by assisting with project
proposals, presentations, and new client activities
* Seek knowledge and expertise through professional development within your specialty and put into action
to improve quality and establish best practices.
* Foster strong relationships with clients.
* Proactively share information that will make colleagues and clients more successful
* Consistently utilizes NYSTEC's appropriate tools and processes
* Organize project work into client presentations outlining findings and recommendations
* Participate in internal and client-facing meetings, prepare reports and presentations
* May assume full responsibility and accountability for executing projects or programs including defining
project roles and responsibilities, planning and project tracking activities, communicating project status
upward and to client project managers
* Adopts PMI best practices
* Provides feedback to management on team member performance
* Mentors and leads colleagues
* Champion the NYSTEC Behaviors
* Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

Ability to work independently and under general supervision. Ability to develop solutions to complex problems
assignments requiring research and analysis. Must demonstrate expertise in an area of specialization and apply
and interpret fundamental principles, theories and concepts within this specialization. Ability to serve as a
resource to less experienced personnel. Experience participating in the business development and sales process
(proposal writing, presentations, etc.). Proven ability to manage projects. Must possess exceptional written and verbal communications, exceptional interpersonal skills, and have the ability to manage and develop key
relationships with colleagues and clients through collaborative thinking and a strong customer focus. Must be
well organized, have the ability to work well under pressure, and be a good team player. Must have a
commitment to the NYSTEC Experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while
performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals

environment at NYSTEC or at client locations. The work conditions are typical for an office environment but may
vary based upon employee's individual project or work assignments. The noise level in the work environment is
usually moderate but will depend on the office setting and/or client setting. This role is required to sit, work with
a computer, view monitor screens, type at keyboards, and review resource materials. The position may require
long hours, including evening and/or weekend hours. This role will spend time traveling throughout the
geographical area interacting with clients and employees at client and corporate offices. Travel may be required,
as necessary, including but not limited to travel by air, train, car, or subway travel. Occasional standing, bending,
walking, lifting up to 30 lbs., and climbing stairs as necessary.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a technical, scientific, public policy, or related discipline with a minimum of 3 -
5 years of relevant experience (or 0 - 3 years of experience with a Master's degree).
Equivalent combination of advanced education, training, and experience will be considered.
