Machine Operations (entry level) - 2nd/3rd Shift
Location:Carroll, IA (51401) Job ID: #71167 Pay Range: $18 - $20 2nd Shift - M-F, 200pm - 10pm 3rd Shift - M-F, 10pm - 6am All work is On-site only Open to Candidates with US Citizenship or Permanent Residency * * * NOTE: Will consider any experience, high school shop classes, Tech School training, Vocations School Training, similar Military Training or Military experience, wood workers, production machine operators, manufacturing machine operators, hobby fabricators and other skills will be considered. Entry-level Machine Operator Trainee - at this level is to learn and train on the basic understandings of all Machining specific operations. Operators have the basic level ability to set-up andoperate a variety of CNC and Manual Machines to produce precision parts with immediate supervision by a certified machine operator (level II or above). Follow established standard work under immediate supervision in efforts to obtain certification within 120 days. Operator follows and complies with established standard work practices under immediate supervision. The operator will typically refer toproblems or deviations to more experienced operators including Lead Technicians, Supervisors or Engineers. Primary Responsibilities: * Learn how to set up and operateprecision manual and/or computerized machining centers according to standard work. * Learn how to adjust machine feed/spindle speeds and the changing of tooling and cutters per machining. * Learn how to read and interpret blueprints and specifications. * Understand and follow quality testing techniques. Learn how to inspect product using precision gauges, measuring instruments and equipment. * Demonstrate proficiency in Manufacturing Documentation and Labor Transactions. * Support and follow all rules/guidelines/standards set by EHS, Quality, and CI functions as set by your leader and position. * Actively participates in the Continuous Improvement process as well as safety related activities. * Working 40hrs p/wk plus extended shifts/overtime as required by the business * * * * Some Holiday hours may be required based on business needs * * * REQUIRED OVERTIME
Qualifications / Experience Needed: * High School Diploma or GED. * U.S. Person either U.S. citizenship or permanent residency * Pass background check * Pass a 10 panel drug test * Ability to learn basics of the position within first 3 months of employment * Working 40hrs p/wk plus extended shifts/overtime as required by the business * Some Holiday hours may be required based on business needs Preferred Qualifications: * Manufacturing background experience is (a big plus) * Manual dexterity to perform tasks associated with machine operations * Ability to learn how to read and understand prints. * Computer experience (e-mail, print documents, internet) and ability to learn how to operate a computer to access prints and/or specified work instructions * Basic shop math including knowledge of (GD&T) Geometric Tolerances * Basic knowledge with identifying, analyzing, and resolving problems * Ability to learn basics of the position within first 3 months of employment * Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees and management Other Qualifications & Requirements: - US Citizen candidates only - Pass a drug test & background check - High School Diploma or GED - Ability to learn basics of the position within first 3 months of employment - Working 40hrs p/wk plus extended shifts/overtime as required by the business - Some Holiday hours may be required based on business needs Benefits provided: 401K,medical, dental, and vision, sick time as applicable to state law. * * * NOTE: Will consider any experience, high school shop classes, Tech School training, Vocations School Training, Military Training or Military experience, wood workers, production machine operators, manufacturing machine operators, hobby fabricators and other skills will be considered.
