Position Summary
The College of Nursing (CON) is searching for a Nursing Peer Tutor to facilitate peer led tutoring sessions with fellow nursing students. Duties include tutoring students in course material and developing effective study strategies to improve student retention. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, a solid understanding of nursing concepts and related skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner. Working hours up to 20 hours per week with student drop-in sessions held twice weekly.
Ideal applicants should be high performers in NMNC 3210 and/or NMNC 4310 and recommended by the faculty.

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in the UNM College of Nursing
  • Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count)
  • Nursing Student in good academic standing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous tutoring/mentoring experience
  • Healthcare experience
  • Customer Service
  • Level 2 BSN student or higher
