The Office of Entrepreneurship and Commercialization is seeking Student Office Assistants for Federal Work Study positions for the Summer 2025 through Fall 2025. Candidates would work approximately 10 to 15 hours per week assisting to support the Eric J. Barron Innovation Hub facility.
Responsibilities may include:

  • Greet, assist, and refer all incoming students, faculty, staff, and visitors
  • Effectively communicate with all visitors fielding questions related to the building
  • Resolve routine customer service issues; routing complicated issues to the appropriate OEC Staff member as needed
  • Perform general clerical duties including answering the phone, mailing / receiving deliveries and/or packages, photocopying, scanning, sending general email communications / announcements regarding building activity and maintenance
  • Assist with events and activities throughout the building including set-up, tear down, and clean-up
  • Assist with special projects related to the events and activities happening in the building
  • Provide assistant to the Front Desk Office Assistant, the Strategic Planning and Administrative Operations Manager, and members of the Happy Valley LaunchBox.

Thispositionrequires a highly organizedand collaborativeself-starterwithexcellent customer service,communication,and time management skills. The applicant must have a can-do and professional attitude and be willing to work in a fast-paced environment. Applications will be received on an ongoing basis and will be reviewed weekly.

This paid appointment is for Summer 2025 - Fall 2025. This position is a full-in-person position and pays $15.00 per hour for undergraduate students and $17.00 per hour for graduate students.

The starting hourly rate for this job is $15.00. Federal Work Study job performance is evaluated either annually or through ongoing mentorship. Students who received a Federal Work Study award have the opportunity to obtain a joband perform related duties eitheron campus, orremotely, if possibleand at the discretion of the employer. Students applying for Federal Work Study positions should clarify expectations with their potential employer regarding either on campus/in person or remote work arrangements.
