Position Summary |
The Office of Student Affairs Specialist (
OSAS) is responsible for assisting the Division of Nursing through management, customer service and technological activities. Responsibilities include assisting with recruitment, admission, student affairs, professional student advising, and program effectiveness. In addition, this individual will provide primary assistance and oversight of data with admissions, progression, and graduation analysis. Additionally, this individual will provide primary responsibility for the administration, management and reporting processes of scholarship funds in the
DON. This individual will provide program/student data to clinical agencies, accrediting bodies, and other constituencies. This individual will manage all student immunization records via the myClinical Exchange system. This individual will lead the efforts on the development, implementation, and evaluation of Standard Operating Procedures of the
DON Office of Student Affairs. The position will serve as a central point of contact for student support within the
DON by helping with admissions, advising, maintenance of applications, data collection on enrollment, retention, and completion, and keep the dean abreast of trends. This Student Affairs Specialist will also assist with student clearance for clinicals, graduation, student advising during the summer, international student support, participate in career fairs and other recruitment events, and respond to student inquiries. As needed, the position would coordinate student events, workshops, and activities to foster a sense of community and belonging.
Program Management
- Point of contact for admission processes, i.e., applications, committee reports, communications, etc.
- Assist leadership with grants and other scholarship management.
- Works closely with the DON leaders to monitor grants and other scholarship availability, allocation of scholarships per guidelines, etc.
- Utilize Banner, Slate, and other electronic databases for inputting, processing and reporting program and student data.
- Monitor and process admission and graduation processes to include graduation clearance
- Provide requisite program and student data to constituencies.
- Works with student orientation graduation, recruitment, marketing and other student affairs support initiatives.
- Assist in developing, maintaining, and updating program information, policies, procedures, etc.
Customer Service
- Provides exemplar customer service to students, faculty, staff and other constituencies (internal and external).
- Represent the OSA during recruitment, information sharing, and other student related events.
Information/Records Administration
- Establish and maintain student files
- Monitor program and student records and files.
- Generate programmatic reports for accrediting bodies and other constituencies as required.
- Compiles, retrieves, and manages data in an organized manner.
- Provide regular progress reports and updates to the Deans, Chief Nurse Administrator, and Chairs.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Dean(s) of the SOHS
