Overview

This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States.

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Quality Control (QC) Analyst to join our First Line Risk Management team. This role will focus on performing quality control and validation checks on Key Indicator (KI) metrics to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency in support of effective risk management practices.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in SQL and Python, as well as a deep understanding of data testing methodologies. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for data quality and continuous improvement in a risk-sensitive environment.


Responsibilities

  • Perform quality control reviews on Key Indicator (KI) metrics to validate data accuracy and alignment with business rules.
  • Develop, execute, and document test plans and scripts for data validation using SQL and Python.
  • Collaborate with metric owners and data providers to investigate and resolve data anomalies or quality issues.
  • Monitor and report on data quality trends, root causes of issues, and suggest remediation plans.
  • Maintain data dictionaries, validation rules, and QC documentation to ensure transparency and audit readiness.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance data quality assurance processes.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on data testing results to inform decision-making within the First Line of Defense.
  • Work cross-functionally with Risk Management, Data Governance, and Technology teams to ensure data reliability and control effectiveness.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Financial Services, First Line Risk Management, Enterprise Risk or Operational Risk

OR

High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Financial Services, First Line Risk Management, Enterprise Risk or Operational Risk

Preferred Area of Study: Finance, Risk Management, Computer Science or Data Analytics

License or Certification Type: CRCM, PMP, CERP, CAMS; ISACA CISA, ISACA CRISC - preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in data quality control, data testing, or analytics within a risk, audit, or compliance environment.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL for querying and analyzing structured datasets.
  • Proficient in Python, particularly for data validation, automation, or scripting tasks.
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, etc.).
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data accuracy and issue resolution.
  • Knowledge of Key Indicator (KI) metrics and their role in operational risk monitoring,
  • Experience working with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus,
  • Knowledge of control frameworks or regulatory expectations related to risk data management,
  • Ability to work effectively with associates, senior management, and various committees

If hired in North Carolina, the base pay for this position is generally between $91,650 and $118000. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
