SQL QA Analyst

I would like to bring in a manual SQL tester. ( Mid-level experience really good in SQL) for my team to validate our DW migration. This person should compare the Datawarehouse migration we are doing to Databricks compare tables against old DW and new DW. Validate for counts, accuracy and set alerts and create some simple dashboard in Databricks.

if there are discrepancies need to reach out to the Data Engineers and tell what's missing. At this time, we are not planning to make a contract to hire but it might change. I can tell for 6 months and maybe another 2-3 months until we finish DW migration.

We are looking for Mid-Level SQL QA Analyst to check and validate Data Warehouse Migration and Replication process to Databricks.

We are in Process of Migrating the Datawarehouse from Azure SQL Server to Databricks likewise replicating real time our Transactional Data to Databricks. We are expecting both projects to be completed early next year.

The Quality Analyst should validate the Dimensions, Fact Tables in Databricks comparing against similar Dimension and Fact Tables in Current SQL Warehouse (Azure SQL). We already migrated a few dimension and fact tables.

This person should write test cases, compare the quality, accuracy and validate data between old data warehouse and new data warehouse. For example, comparing the old Fact Sales order against the new Fact Sales order and make sure all the orders are there , all order lines available, order line quantities, cost are all good. Since the old Data Warehouse is currently used in Power BI and other reporting sources that's going to be the metric or authorization we will be using to compare the accuracy of our new Data Warehouse. Also create some alerts in Databricks to automate this process and if there are discrepancies have to validate and find the discrepancy and let Data Engineers know so they can figure out and fix the issue. The validation has to be done daily for all the Dimension and Fact Tables.

The person for this role should have experience 5+ years of writing complex SQL Scripts ( Window Level functions, complex CTE, Scripting, Parsing JSONs, joining multiple tables, use surrogate keys join between Dimension and Fact Tables).

This person will be using Databricks notebook for testing purposes, familiarity with Databricks environment is a plus but not mandatory.

We also would like this person create test cases, alerts and also create some dashboards in Databricks for the team to validate.

Setting up Dashboards in Databricks is very simple if the person has familiarity with Tableau or Powerbi should be able to do it quickly. Setting up alerts is also very simple with Databricks.
