Smyrna DC Intern

Are you seeking a degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Project Mgt, Operations, or Business? Do you enjoy being hands on? Do you thrive in the unknown and go above and beyond to solve difficult challenges?

DRiV Smyrna Distribution Center is seeking a college student intern for the Summer 2025 (Late June to Late July) to support Continuous Improvement projects. This intern would work within a project team made up of other interns and DRiV staff. Interns will be focused on two transformation projects

Our recruiting team is ready to act immediately. You'll first hear from someone in our Human Resources Department to conduct a phone screen, and then the next step is a panel interview with the DC Manager, HR, and/or CI. About the Role

The individual will be assigned projects that allow them to think outside of the box and apply what they have learned in school to real-world problems seen in a distribution center environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Perform Time Studies to help build out business cases for continuous improvement projects and establish labor standards





  • Close out 5S action items while striving to improve the site to the highest Tenneco P3 standards





  • Identify the bottlenecks of the current process and generate improvement plans





  • Help lead kaizen events and facilitate a culture of continuous improvement





  • Create standard work for all levels of the plant



Qualifications



  • Working on a degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Project Management, or a related field





  • Proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Access)





  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the aptitude to learn in a fast-paced environment





  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for interface with Leadership and production team members





  • Must be able to work and communicate in a team environment and assist project managers in monitoring and evaluating progress in assignment projects





  • Must be able to develop and assist in managing detailed project plans and timelines



Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may be exposed to heights up to 30 feet. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles and can be exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold including climates consistent with outside weather conditions.
