Staff Mechanical Design Engineer
Overview
The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for designing components, subassemblies and assemblies for Kearfott GND products to meet internal and customer technical requirements. Mechanical Design Engineer will work with and interface with the other disciplines of Engineering Department (Systems, Electrical, Test, Software) as well as Project Engineers, Program Managers, QA, Production and Supply Chain.
Responsibilities
Supports project team in the:
* Design 3D and 2D of mechanical components using SolidWorks CAD
* Design 3D and 2D electromechanical assemblies using SolidWorks CAD
* Design of electronic enclosures and electronics packaging
* Design for Manufacturing and Assembly
* Generate BOM's
* Selection of materials and processes in accordance with technical specifications requirements
* Stress analysis using FEA techniques (Ansys, SolidWorks Simulation)
* Configuration management in SW PDM environment
* Works with cross functional engineering teams to ensure mechanical requirements are fully understood and implemented
Requirements
* BS in Mechanical Engineering
* Minimum 7+ years of design experience
* Aerospace - Defense background strongly preferred
* Exposure to manufacturing processes
* Experience with 3D printing technology
* Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD, Finite Element Analysis and Microsoft Office
* Configuration management of engineering documentation
* Knowledge of GD&T
* PDM design environment strongly preferred
* Strong communication abilities and interpersonal skills
* Team player
* Due to U.S. export control laws under ITAR, this position is only open to U.S. persons, which includes U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents (Green Card holders), and certain protected individuals under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New Jersey is $110,000 - $160,000 Annually. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to job-related knowledge and skills, experience, and internal consistency.
