A Day in the Life: Team Leaders must have detailed working knowledge of all aspects of production and production lines. The position supports Shift Supervisors and Production Operators in day-to-day operations including overseeing the operation of machinery, maintaining quality and production standards, as well as all necessary reporting by the employees in assigned areas. Position Details: 3RD Shift 9:00pm - 5:30am Range $34-$38 What You'll Be Doing:
- Monitor the work performance and schedule breaks of all Production employees assigned to the area.
- Maintain communication with the Shift Supervisor, Scheduler and Production Manager. Follow any additional instructions provided.
- Ensure all stock is available and changeovers are performed to minimize downtime.
- Communicate upcoming changeovers to Panel Operators.
- Perform a thorough turnover with the oncoming Team Leader at the end of the shift including any special instructions, numbers remaining on the present order, and any continuing difficulties.
- Maintain plant cleanliness and GMP guidelines in the area of responsibility. This includes inspection of the production areas prior to shift change.
- Lead individuals assigned to them for special tasks.
- Any additional tasks assigned by Shift Supervisors or Production Manager.
- Undergo direct training on the operation of all machinery in the assigned area and safety training to include operational controls.
- Oversee and ensure the safe operation of all machinery for the assigned line area.
- Monitor the quality of the product being produced to include but not limited to the following:
- Maintain proper product weights by inspecting weight checks and ensuring the results are recorded, graphed, and necessary adjustments are made to keep weights in specification.
- Ensure that the product is of the proper color and texture as compared to samples provided and approved by Quality Assurance.
- Ensure that the product is properly covered when necessary.
- Check for legible and correct date codes on both packaging and shipping cases.
- Use of proper packaging labels to specifications provided.
- Accurately report or ensure the reporting of production to include any lot control information, scrap or holds processed.
- Ensure all employees in the area of responsibility adhere to all guidelines presented in the employee handbook. All violations should be reported to a Shift Supervisor or Production Manager.
- Ensure finished product is placed in the correct storage area.
- Ensure all unused packaging is wrapped or sealed before returning to the warehouse and labels are in the proper place. Ensure stock is combined in order to minimize open containers/boxes.
- Perform correct product changeovers that include but are not limited to:
- Ensure all packaging is readily available well before the time of the changeover.
- Properly handle formulation changeovers when needed.
- Submit all necessary changeover samples to the lab for testing.
- When needed, notify the Panel Operator in a timely manner to perform any formula changeovers.
- Commitment to supply safe food, maintain a food safety culture within the site, continually improve the site's food safety management system; and comply with customer and regulatory requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma preferred or Equivalent or demonstrate the ability to perform all tasks associated with this job.
- Have the necessary technical skills such as basic mathematics and mechanical skills. Also, able to prioritize and provide guidance, direction and training for all individuals in their assigned area.
- Able to train individuals on how to run machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
- Able to communicate with co-workers, Shift Supervisors and other members of management.
