Job Overview

Responsible for using components and tools to assemble consumer and commercial products. Must be able position parts, and precisely examine connections. To be successful in this role, you should be detailoriented, organized, and skilled with technical assembly.

A Day In The Life

  • Exceeds all Assembler II work performance in the respective work area (cross functional);
  • Exemplary role model for all employees;
  • Train SWI to new and existing associates, update SWI as applicable;
  • Ensure work is performed by all team members, if not, escalation is required;
  • Participate and help drive continuous improvement;
  • Understand and assist with the completion of daily GEMBA boards;
  • Lead backup for all functions;
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area per Hubbell's 6S policy;
  • Support and participate in RCCA;
  • Follow instructions; both written and verbal; from the lead person and production supervisors;
  • Responsible for Equipment Uptime;
  • Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner;
  • Assist management in keeping supplies on order;
  • Inspect own work for conformity to standards;
  • Forklift certified if applicable
  • Assist in other areas as necessary; and
  • Must wear allPPE required for the specific work area

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • Basic reading and writing.
  • Three (3) - Five (5) years' experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to read and understand prints.
  • Must be able to use precision measuring instruments
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude toward his/her work including striving for maximum production and quality of product.
  • Possess self-motivated initiative to improve quantity, quality, and maximum efficiency with all co-workers.
