Senior Data Engineer, Ethics & Compliance
Job ID: 98842

Do you want to work on complex and pressing challenges-the kind that bring together curious, ambitious, and determined leaders who strive to become better every day? If this sounds like you, you've come to the right place.
Your Impact
As a key member of McKinsey's Ethics and Compliance (E&C) Data & Insights team, you will work closely with program leaders to understand their needs and challenges, designing, creating and managing data engineering solutions that support the firm's ethics and compliance objectives.
In this role, you will oversee the creation of scalable data pipelines, data models, and analytics frameworks that enable the collection, integration, and analysis of large datasets from multiple sources. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and translate those requirements into actionable engineering solutions. Additionally, you will ensure that the data infrastructure supports real-time analytics and reporting, empowering leadership to make informed decisions.
You will lead the development of data governance frameworks to maintain data quality, integrity, and security. This includes implementing best practices for data validation, monitoring, and access control, as well as ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Collaborating with leadership, you will design and implement advanced analytics tools, such as dashboards and machine learning models, to identify emerging risks and trends.
A key aspect of your role will involve creating predictive models that enable the firm to proactively address compliance risks. Furthermore, you will guide and mentor data analysts, fostering their professional growth by providing technical training, career development opportunities, and constructive feedback.
Your work will help ensure ethical and compliant decision-making by providing insights that enhance operational integrity, strengthen regulatory adherence, and mitigate risks. By transforming raw data into meaningful insights, you will empower teams to make informed, principled choices that uphold the organization's values and protect its reputation.
You will be based in the United States as part of our E&C's Data & Insights team. This team analyzes data and trends to identify risks, ensure regulatory adherence, and provide actionable insights that support ethical decision-making and organizational integrity.

You are someone who thrives in a high-performance environment, bringing a growth mindset and entrepreneurial spirit to tackle meaningful challenges that have a real impact.
In return for your drive, determination, and curiosity, we'll provide the resources, mentorship, and opportunities to help you quickly broaden your expertise, grow into a well-rounded professional, and contribute to work that truly makes a difference.
