Position description

Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, the Coordinator of Public Programs will conduct curriculum development and trainings for subject matter experts (SMEs) under the California Workplace Outreach Project (CWOP)- Rural Strategic Engagement Program (RSE). The CPP will liaise with farmworker labor unions and farmworker community-based organizations, to assess California Labor Workforce & Development Agency/ Employment Development Department and Department of Industrial Relations needs for staff education to better engage with farmworkers and farmworker organizations. The CPP will then develop curriculum for CWOP RSE SMEs to provide education to agency staff to better engage with farmworkers and farmworker organizations. The CPP will onboard SMEs, standardize existing curriculum, attend pilot trainings, hold office hours for SMEs, and meet with the Agricultural Labor Relations Board.


Qualifications
Basic qualifications

Bachelors degree (or equivalent) with 2 years of equivalent experience in related subject matter.

Strong organizational skills and decision-making abilities

Ability to work collaboratively in a team

Preferred qualifications

Demonstrated strong communication and writing skills in English and Spanish (or another language needed to support low-wage workers in the region)

Experience in curriculum development

Experience planning and conducting participatory training and outreach programs for labor and community organizations

Knowledge of or experience in occupational health and safety, environmental health, and/or emergency preparedness

Background in labor, public health, or a related field 2-5 years experience designing and implementing participatory training programs
