Add to favorites Favorited View favorites Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $18.32 - Midpoint: $21.97 (Hourly N4) Department/Organization: 219101 - University Libraries Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm; some evenings & weekends required. Job Summary: The Building Associate coordinates building operations and services. Monitors all buildings and facilities. Communicates facilities issues that may affect work or safety to occupants. Serves as initial contact for incoming shipments and deliveries. Additional Department Summary: Supports the Project Coordinator for University Libraries and assists building-related projects. Assists with logistics, project design, management, and implementation. Coordinates building services and systems within five facilities and provides oversight for structural maintenance and building operations. Assists with daily routine tasks to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in all processes. Addresses and resolves any issues that arise with daily operations. Assists with overseeing the preventative maintenance program and recommends new items for this program. Coordinates inspections to ensure compliance with codes and safety regulations and are on-call for building emergencies. Interacts with building occupants to resolve day-to-day issues and assists in the development of future projects. Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of experience in construction or building maintenance/monitoring. Skills and Knowledge: Skills in customer service, contractor relations, building security and safety, and records maintenance. Proficient in office-related computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word. Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Capable of efficiently prioritizing workflow through innovative thinking and independent judgement. Familiarity with building systems, trades, construction methods, and materials, as well as HVAC systems, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, repairs, and maintenance. Demonstrated ability to interact diplomatically with faculty, staff, and students. Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and without direct supervision. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field. Five (5) years of experience in construction, engineering, construction/capital project management, facilities management or interior design.
