Job Summary

*The individual will be responsible for managing all Rochester Manufacturing activities for the QA and QC functions (including food safety) to ensure that the Rochester site complies with corporate, divisional and local guidelines and procedures.
*This individual is also responsible for implementing and maintaining the integrated quality management system based on all applicable Quality & Food Safety standard.

IFF in Rochester, NY, is seeking a dynamic and experiencedSite Quality Managerto lead all Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC), and Food Safety functions at the site. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with corporate, divisional, and local quality standards while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

As the Site Quality Manager, you will oversee the implementation and maintenance of integrated quality and food safety systems, manage product disposition decisions, and lead internal and external audits. You will also serve as the Food Safety Team Leader, ensuring our products meet the highest standards of safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all QA/QC and food safety operations at the Rochester site.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain integrated quality and food safety systems (FSSC 22000, FAMI-QS, NSF Dietary Supplements, ISO 9001).
  • Manage product hold, quarantine, and release processes, including disposition of non-conforming materials.
  • Serve as the primary contact for food/feed safety communications and customer requirements.
  • Lead internal, external, and vendor audits to ensure regulatory and customer compliance.
  • Oversee the site's HACCP program and act as the Food Safety Team Leader.
  • Manage departmental budgets, cost controls, and resource planning.
  • Ensure effective use and data integrity of ERP systems (SAP QM module).
  • Collaborate across global teams to align quality objectives and performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, including GMPs, dietary supplement regulations, and environmental standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of QA/QC experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in product disposition and decision-making.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and food cGMPs.
  • Demonstrated success in managing quality systems and food safety programs.
  • Excellent project management and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a multicultural, international work environment.

Work Environment

  • This role involves both office and production floor responsibilities.
  • Occasional travel to other company sites may be required.

Compensation ($95k - $122K) is based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to work experience, skills, certifications, and location.
