Position Summary: ENMU-Roswell is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Art Instructor with the ability and desire to teach a variety of freshman and sophomore-level Art courses. This is a 10-month faculty appointment, with instructional responsibilities equivalent to 15 credit hours per semester, taught at the ENMU-Roswell campus. This position reports directly to the Dean of Arts and Science Education.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Effectively prepare, teach, grade, and assess student learning in assigned Art courses.
- Create and model a quality learning environment that supports a diverse student population, including students with disabilities or special learning needs.
- Utilize Canvas for communication, feedback, curriculum development, and course design and delivery.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of learning management systems (LMS) and apply both traditional face-to-face and innovative technology-based instructional methods.
- Maintain a strong emphasis on student success and retention through:
- Active and collaborative learning strategies
- Regular office hours
- Academic advising
- Participation in institutional service and committee work
- Engagement in community service and professional development activities
- Use a variety of technology tools to access and input data related to student records and institutional processes.
- Assist students with registration, academic advising, and graduation planning.
- Design courses and structure curriculum to align with program and course outcomes.
- Prepare and distribute instructional support materials, including course syllabi, supplementary materials, and instructional media.
- Attend in-service training, departmental and campus meetings, graduation ceremonies, and convocations as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Job Requirements:
- Master's degree in Art, Fine Arts, or a Master's degree with at least 12 graduate-level credit hours in relevant subject matter; or a Bachelor's degree combined with sufficient training, experience, and certifications that are equivalent to a Master's degree in the subject area being taught.
- Two years of teaching experience at the secondary or post-secondary level.
- Demonstrated experience working with a diverse student population.
- Ability to use word processing, basic internet applications, basic database navigation, and a learning management system.
- Ability to teach face-to-face, virtual, and hybrid formats.
Preferred:
- Ph.D. in a related field.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- Experience working at a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI).
- Two years of teaching experience at the secondary or post-secondary level.
- Experience teaching at a public two-year, community college.
- Experience managing classroom labs, budgets, and supply orders.
- Experience with program evaluation and assessment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of student development and engagement strategies.
- Effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in using educational technology to support instruction and enhance student retention and academic success.
- Commitment to high-quality teaching, inclusive pedagogy, and the mission of a community and technical college.

Working Conditions

- The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
- Work is generally performed during regular business hours; however, some evening and weekend assignments may be required to accommodate student schedules and program needs.
