About The Position

The Integrated Grid Plan Strategist will support the Manager, Clean Energy Transition Grid Strategy, as part of the Clean Energy Transition team. This role is pivotal in supporting the development, stakeholder engagement, filing, defense, and implementation of the Integrated Grid Plan (IGP). The Strategist will work closely with various departments to ensure the successful execution of the Integrated Grid Plan and compliance with State and Federal laws.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead internal coordination of Ameren Subject matter experts (SME), supporting strategy and managing disparate workstreams addressing all aspects of the business including Customer Bill Affordability, Asset & Project Data sharing, Distributed Energy Resource deployment, Digital and Information Technology, Distribution Maintenance and Operations, System Reliability and Resiliency Planning, Delivering Equitable Benefits, Financial Budgeting and Capital Allocation, Cost Effectiveness and benefit-cost analysis, System Capacity Planning, Non-Wires Alternatives consideration, Pilot Projects selection, and Stakeholder Engagement.
  • Lead the management of the discovery processes, ensuring thorough and accurate information gathering.
  • Lead Engagement with Illinois Commerce Commission Staff, interested stakeholders, and industry partners to drive the clean energy transition and grid modernization efforts.
  • Lead IGP Implementation ensuring compliance with all Grid Plan commitments and final order directives, assessing risks, and ensuring completion. Provide updates on the implementation of the IGP.
  • Actively participate in Commission ordered workshops related to the IGP, supporting preparation, contributing expertise and insights and ensuring consistency in Ameren positioning.
  • Lead the logistics of workshops, ensuring smooth execution and effective collaboration.
  • Assist legal teams, witnesses, and subject matter experts with testimony preparation and data request response management.
  • Represent Ameren Illinois in industry-related activities, fostering relationships and staying informed about industry trends.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university is required; preferably in business, engineering, energy policy, economics, or a related discipline. An advanced degree, license, or certification (e.g., M.B.A., P.E., P.M.P.) is preferred. Seven years of relevant professional-level experience required, preferably in the utility or energy industry. Experience participating in regulatory docketed proceedings and/or workshops is preferred. Experience related to analysis, policy, and/or regulations related to electricity, energy efficiency, and/or decarbonization preferred. Must be able to clearly demonstrate strong leadership, ability to influence others, team building and organizational skills; excellent business acumen, decision-making, problem solving, and analytical skills.

Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills are essential. The ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders is crucial.

Ameren's selection process includes a series of interviews and may include a leadership assessment process. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates.

Compensation Range:

$108,400.00 - $168,000.00

At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
