Knights Experience Team (kNEXT):

The University of Central Florida's (UCF's) the Knights Experience Team (kNEXT) primarily provides customer service to the Finance Business Centers (FBCs) and the Human Resources Business Centers (HRBC's) employees, assisting with various tasks as needed. kNEXT also provides administrative support services to staff across all colleges and divisions of the University. kNEXT is designed to reduce the administrative burden on individual colleges, consolidate transaction-based functions, create economies of scale, and improve backroom process efficiency so the colleges can better focus resources on their mission.

The team is made up of HR Specialists and Travel/Procurement Specialists who will provide information and support across campus, reduce administrative burden, and empower employees to learn and grow. These Specialists will operate as campus experts on processes and procedures, support training and development, provide specialized reporting and analytics, and support central office transactions. All employees within kNEXT will also work to continuously improve processes and workflows.

The purpose of kNEXT is to ensure that the services provided meet or exceed expected performance levels and satisfy the needs of the faculty/staff/students (colleges/divisions).

The Opportunity:

kNEXT is seeking a customer-focused professional to join our collaborative team in the Human Resources Specialist I role.

Responsibilities:


  • Answer general HR/Payroll inquiries (and back-up colleague for general Finance inquiries when needed) via phone, email, case management system and or other communication channels.

  • Fulfill HR document requests originating from the Human Resources Business Centers and/or current or former employees.

  • Evaluate and submit Workday transactions routed to the HR-Specialist role, ensuring adherence to university polices, regulations, and procedures. Initiates HR transactions in Workday.

  • Send report output to HRBCs or kNEXT divisional support. Monitor and follow-up as needed.

  • For in office days, support the front desk by greeting visitors and notifying team members via instant messaging or phone of the arrival of their visitor.


Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent and 0+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Prior experience in human resources, administrative support, or coordinator roles, preferably in a university or similar setting.

  • Ability to leverage technology and computer systems with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to include familiarity with Excel for basic functions.

  • Experience with Workday or other similar systems is highly desirable.

  • Prior experience in a customer service-oriented role with the ability to interact professionally and provide courteous responses to faculty, staff, students, and external entities.

  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality pertaining to sensitive information.

  • Strong organizational, problem solving, and multitasking abilities, with keen attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

  • Adaptability as it pertains to process changes and shifts in priorities.

Special Instructions to the Applicants:

The anticipated hourly range for this position is $17.64 to $19.63. The final rate will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.

Hybrid work schedule within the state of Florida may be considered based upon specific circumstances and candidate qualifications.
