Job Description

Location: Woburn, MA

Skyworks is looking for a key leader in the Technology and Manufacturing Group. The Woburn Wafer Fab QA Manager is responsible for supporting the wafer fabrication quality strategy for Skyworks. As a manager, you'll be partnering with the Newbury Park, CA Fab QA Manager and global organizations including Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and leaders from the Business Units. You will lead highly visible and globally influential initiatives with significant impact on Skyworks' business. Along with directing a team of internal fab quality engineers, the Wafer Fab QA Manager will also build and sustain the necessary tools and processes to execute strategic quality initiatives throughout the wafer fabrication space.

A problem solver with expertise in 8D and root cause analysis tools.

An expert in system, process, and product internal auditing.

A successful leader in managing cross cultural business relationships, particularly with partners in the US, APAC and Mexico.

Key Responsibilities

Quality management - for wafer fabrication operations, including:



  • Quality Engineering Team Management, Incoming Raw Material Supplier Quality, Supplier Monitoring and Development, Supplier Audits, and Supplier Corrective Actions.
  • Key contributor to Process FMEA improvements, Process Capability monitoring and improvement, Measurement Systems Analysis, Control of Nonconforming Material, Internal Corrective Actions, Continuous Improvement, Process Validation and Change Controls.
  • Participation in and oversight for NTI and NPI activities, Customer Special Care, and Clean Launch.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop the Fab quality engineering team.
  • Collaborate with Sourcing, Engineering, and Business Unit teams to ensure Skyworks has a viable quality strategy for wafer fabrication.
  • Partner with Legal, Sourcing, and Engineering teams to secure quality-aligned contract terms with our key vendors and to ensure adherence to those terms.
  • Perform supplier audits, support customer audit activities, and develop close partnerships with internal customers, which may require some travel (~15%).

Key Qualification & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or related field. Graduate degrees are a plus.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in semiconductor wafer manufacturing with at least 3 in Quality Management or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 required. Experience with automotive quality standards and automotive core tools is highly preferred!
  • Excellent analytical, organization, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in operating Microsoft Office applications and analytical software such as JMP.
