Salary: The budgeted salary range for the faculty position is $140,000 to $210,000. The budgeted salary for the department head administrative stipend is $40,00.00. Opportunities to supplement income from Faculty Practice are available. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.

The University of Illinois Chicago, College of Dentistry (COD) invites applications from mid-career and senior Endodontics educators for a full time, tenure eligible position as Associate Professor/Professor and Head of the Department of Endodontics.

The successful candidate will provide vision and leadership as well as management and administrative support of the department's predoctoral, postgraduate/graduate and research programs and maintain its reputation as a nationally and internationally recognized center of education, research, and service.

The Department educates dental students and postgraduate specialty students in the discipline of Endodontics and supports high level scholarship and research. Interdisciplinary collaboration within the College and other Colleges on the University campus is encouraged. CODA accredited Advanced Dental Education programs in Endodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, Periodontics, and Prosthodontics are housed within the College of Dentistry. The College's clinical Department Heads function as a collaborative leadership team in ensuring the ongoing integration of these programs.

The College is located in one of the most comprehensive academic health sciences centers in the U. S. that includes a Comprehensive Cancer Center, Center for Clinical and Translational Sciences, College of Medicine, College of Applied Health Sciences, School of Public Health, Bioengineering program, School of Nursing and College of Pharmacy.

The candidate must have earned a DDS/DMD (or equivalent) degree, have graduated from a CODA-accredited Advanced Dental Education program in Endodontics or equivalent training, be eligible for licensure in Illinois, and have five years evidence of effective teaching experience and have a substantial record of scholarship and publications, and extensive clinical experience. The preferred candidate will have an advanced degree (e.g., MS, M.Ed, MPH, PhD or equivalent), advanced training in research, and previous management experience. Diplomate status of the American Board Endodontics or educational qualification for such status is desirable but not required. The preferred candidates will have experience such as leadership in teaching, mentoring, research or service towards building an equitable and diverse scholarly environment. Academic rank and tenure eligibility will be commensurate with qualifications and experience according to the COD Faculty Norms and Criteria.
