Submarine Maintenance Planning Technician
Position Summary:
Life Cycle Engineering is looking for a qualified Engineering Technician to join our Team to support SUBMEPP Maintenance and Ship Work Planning. As the Planning Technician you will provide and maintain engineered life cycle maintenance products in direct support of the Fleet, shipyards, industrial facilities, and NAVSEA. This work will be done from the contractor office in Dover, NH.
Clearance Requirement:
- Must be a US citizen and have a current DoD Secret security clearance.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Evaluate PMS documentation to ensure compatibility, effectiveness, applicability and compliance with Configuration/Equipment-Based Maintenance and Reliability Centered Maintenance principals.
- Prepare draft PMS Change Requests; include supporting RCM documentation.
- Research, develop, and maintain maintenance readiness dashboard for assigned equipment, component, and systems.
- Tag raw maintenance feedback data (including but not limited to Ship's 3M, Maintenance History and Performance Monitoring Program (SMMIS), Unclassified CASREP, TAVRs) and deliver electronic data sets for use during the RCM analysis process.
- Conduct Classic RCM analysis of assigned component(s) and submit the required analysis.
- Extract and catalogue certified Naval Shipyard Technical Work Instructions, (TGIs), Deficiency Reports (DRs) and Deficiency Logs (DLs) from the appropriate program or databases of record.
- Retrieve 3M data from the Ship's 3M database and load the data into the data retrieval tool identifying the data request.
- Attend meetings, conferences etc. as required.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
- High school diploma.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in an Engineering Technician role supporting the Navy.
- Engineering Technician III - 3 years of experience
- Engineering Technician IV - 7 years of experience
- Engineering Technician V - 10 years of experience
- Familiarity with Maintenance Standards and submarine Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) systems.
- Current or recent shipyard submarine availability maintenance experience and be familiar with availability work packages and tracking metrics.
- Experience as a PQS Maintenance Person, Work Center Supervisor, or 3M Coordinator within the Navy's Planned Maintenance System.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and possess the ability to learn.
- Able to follow procedures and execute sequenced work instructions from written and/or verbal communications.
- Must be a team player who exhibits a high level of integrity and professionalism in all situations
Physical Demands and Expectations:
- Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting (up to 50 pounds), and standing.
- Work safely, following government policies, procedures and work practices in a positive, cooperative, and productive manner.
