Staffmark is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Saw Operator for a well-established manufacturing facility in Alexandria, MN. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with mechanical aptitude and a desire to grow within a supportive team environment.

Pay & Schedule



  • Pay Rate: $17.00 - $18.00/hour (based on experience)
  • Shift: Monday - Thursday | 5:00 AM - 3:00 PM
  • Schedule Type: Four 10-hour days, three-day weekends!



As a Saw Operator, you will be responsible for operating saw equipment, measuring materials, and preparing metal components for further manufacturing. You'll follow established guidelines while working under direct supervision and will play a key role in maintaining production quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities



  • Operate saws to cut materials according to specifications and cutting standards
  • Determine the appropriate cutting process for various materials
  • Use precision measuring tools and read blueprints
  • Clean, cut, and deburr steel bars and sheets
  • Maximize material usage by calculating cut lengths and entering them into machine controls
  • Ensure materials are correctly issued at the end of each shift
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S standards
  • Report any equipment maintenance or repair needs
  • Participate in ongoing training and cross-training in other areas of the machine shop
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies



Qualifications



  • High school diploma or GED required; technical degree in Manufacturing or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of metal sawing experience preferred (or equivalent)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Proficient with measurement tools and performing accurate work
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
  • Reliable work history and a positive, team-oriented attitude
